Just before 2:00 in the morning on Saturday, August 20th, Galesburg Police responded to a burglary in the 400 block of East North Street. A man and a woman woke up in bed to find now 34-year-old Xavier Parker standing over them as they slept. The man told police he recognized Parker because they went to school together. The victims had security video of Parker entering their home about six minutes before they were awakened. Officers located Parker near Chambers and Peck Street as other officers met with the victims. Parker was detained and officers located a small baggie containing five pills that would field-test positive for the presence of methamphetamine. Parker refused to speak to the police and was transported to the Knox County Jail. He was charged with Trespassing to Residence, Possession of Meth less than five grams, and a valid Knox County Warrant for Unlawful Possession of Cannabis.
