Galesburg Police on Tuesday night (August 30th) responded to the 400 block of North Whitesboro Street for a harassment complaint. Officers met with a 27-year-old female who told police she has been having problems with her ex-boyfriend, 29-year-old Nino Pagan of Galesburg. Police are familiar with Pagan due to previous encounters, and officers responded to similar calls of him harassing his ex. GPD knew Pagan had a valid Knox County Warrant facing felony charges of Aggravated Battery, Theft, and a Misdemeanor charge of Interfering with the Reporting of Domestic Violence. The female was receiving text messages and emails from Pagan threatening to kill her and their children. Pagan also indicated he had a firearm through pictures, and that he was on his way to the victim’s house. Officers then waited behind the garage at the residence for Pagan to show up. When Pagan arrived, and officers ordered him to approach, he took off running. He was apprehended shortly after when he tried to hide in some bushes. Police did not locate a firearm on Pagan and he was placed under arrest. Pagan was charged with Class 4 Felony charges of Harassment – Threaten to Kill, Resisting Arrest, and Stalking.
