Just before 1:00am on Wednesday, August 31st, Galesburg Police while on a separate call near Iowa Housing, heard what sounded like subjects in a physical fight with each other. As officers approached the disturbance, they observed 29-year-old Trenton Field of Galesburg on top of a female subject with his hands around her neck. As officers detained Field, the female subject got up and attempted to hug him. According to police reports, officers believed both subjects were under the influence of an intoxicating compound and neither would comply with commands. Field then began to charge at officers and police were forced to deploy a taser on him. The uncooperative female subject told police it was her that was attacking Field. A witness nearby who was recording the police with his phone did not record the altercation before GPD got involved. Trenton Field was transported to the Knox County Jail and charged with domestic battery.
