020312 (Damon Higgins/The Palm Beach Post) WEST PALM BEACH - A camera (bottom right) installed on the side of a Palm Beach County school bus just below the stop arm that can capture images of drivers who blow through the stop arm rather than stopping as the law says they should. The district is trying camera systems on two buses.
A Galesburg District 205 student was hit by a vehicle this morning while waiting for the school bus to arrive.
District 205 Superintendent John Asplund tells WGIL the student goes to King Elementary and was waiting at the bus stop by the Prairieland Apartments.
Praireland is located just off one of the southernmost points of Seminary St.
Asplund says the student is believed to be ok, and school was remaining in session for Tuesday despite some rumors to the contrary.
The bus was not present at the time of the incident.
Galesburg Police were not able to immediately comment on if anyone was in custody or facing charges for the incident.
