Teen girl charged after tasing younger sister

Late afternoon on Saturday, September 24th, Galesburg Police responded to the 1100 block of East South Street for a disturbance. A 12-year-old girl told officers that her 16-year-old sister tased her with a taser, according to police reports. The girl said she and her sister were “play fighting” when the older sister pulled out a taser and tased the younger one. The 12-year-old then ran and curled up in a chair, and the teen then tased her again in the leg. The girls’ mother told police she saw the 16-year-old tase the 12-year-old. Police observed burn marks on the girl’s stomach and leg. The teen was taken into custody. Officers then discovered she had two valid Knox County warrants: one for retail theft, and one for battery. The teen was processed at the Knox County Jail and then transported to the Mary Davis Home. She was charged with Domestic Battery and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
