
Just before midnight last Tuesday, October 11th, Galesburg Police responded to the 800 block of Mulberry Street for a report of a male subject stabbing another male subject. According to police reports, a 62-year-old male stabbed a 36-year-old male during a dispute. The 36-year-old male had a one-centimeter long and one-centimeter deep cut in the center of his chest. Police are familiar with the men and with the residence due to previous encounters. The victim said he woke up in bed and the other male subject was inside his room. The victim escorted the man out of the house and began arguing, and the assailant then turned and stabbed the man in the chest. It was discovered the 36-year-old victim had a valid Knox County warrant and after being treated at OSF for his wound, was transported to the Knox County Jail. The 62-year-old male was then located on Allens Avenue and taken into custody. The man reportedly told witnesses he was “going hunting on Mulberry Street.” The man also had a valid Knox County warrant. He was transported to the Knox County Jail and charged with Aggravated Battery with a Weapon.
