Galesburg Police last Tuesday, October 18th, responded to the 600 block of West Main Street for an unwanted male subject inside a residence. The call came on behalf of a 28-year-old female who had left the house but would later return. Police were granted permission to enter the home and remove the 27-year-old man who was reportedly “tearing apart the residence,” according to police reports. The male subject had valid warrants for Domestic Battery, Interfering with a report of Domestic Violence, and Criminal Damage. The female returned to the home and went inside. After a few minutes, she came to the door and told officers they could not come inside and arrest the male subject. Since the female was seen driving a vehicle, she was placed under arrest for Driving on a Revoked License. Police then made contact with the male subject who took off running through the house. The male quickly gave up once outside and he was taken into custody. In addition to the warrants, the male was also charged with Resisting a Peace Officer. Both the male and the female who transported to the Knox County Jail.
