Peggy A. Humes, 67, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 9:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at OSF St. Mary’s Medical Center, Galesburg, IL.
She was born on August 28, 1955, in Dodgeville, WI, the daughter of John and Margaret (Anderson) Meuer. Peggy was raised and educated in Tayloridge, IL, and graduated from Rockridge High School in 1974.
Peggy was married for a time, but she later divorced.
Peggy worked for 20 years at Monmouth Nursing Home in Housekeeping. She enjoyed gambling, playing cards, and bingo. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving Peggy are her children, Jennifer (John Johnson) Logsdon of Monmouth, IL, Jim (Angie) Humes of Monmouth, IL; her grandchildren, Ashley (Russell) Schneider of Monmouth, IL, Zachary Logsdon of Monmouth, IL, Phoebe Logsdon of Monmouth, IL; her great-grandchildren, Aubrey Schneider, and one new edition on the way. Also surviving are her sisters, Betty “Scooter” Meuer of Monmouth, IL, Mary (Mike) Fix of Moline, IL, and Shirley (Dave) Christensen of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, William Meuer; two sisters, Bonnie Meuer and Susan Meuer.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to the Peggy Humes Memorial Fund and sent to the funeral home.
