Night Time Police Violent Crime Intervention. Police Vehicles with Flashing Lights.
A crash on U.S. Highway 34 claimed the life of a 22-year-old Galesburg woman on Thursday.
22-year-old Roly Molenga was said to be driving a Hyundai Elantra that left the roadway and struck a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction head-on.
Molenga was traveling east on US Route 34, near Seminary Street while the other vehicle, a Jeep Renegade was traveling west.
Five other individuals were taken to the hospital with injuries, including 4 that were Life Flighted for serious injuries.
Two of the injured were a 10-year-old and a 7-year-old from Avon, with the 10-year-old being airlifted.
During the investigation last night, the Galesburg Police Department asked motorists to avoid US 34 from I74 to the Seminary Street exit.
