Cheryl A. Galloway, age 66 of Galesburg, Illinois passed away at 10:34 A.M. on Sunday, October 30, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born on December 23, 1955, in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Warren C. and Gretchen (Thompson) Galloway. She graduated from Galesburg High School in the Class of 1973. She married Dale Mulvey on June 27, 1981, in Galesburg, Illinois. They later divorced.
Cheryl was one of a kind. She had a huge heart and was a very loyal friend to all who were lucky enough to know her. Her laugh and smile were distinct and infectious. Cheryl loved to have fun and was always known as the life of the party. Most days of the summer you’d find her in her pool or gambling on the boat with her friends and family. Her most precious time was spent with her daughter and spoiling her grandbabies.
Surviving is her daughter, Daleanne (Clayton) Locke of Knoxville, Illinois; two grandchildren Hudson and Scarlett Locke; her brother, William “Bill” Galloway of Galesburg, Illinois, her sister, Barbara (Roger) Gooding of East Galesburg, Illinois, a sister-in-law, Dottie Galloway of Lavon, Texas, three very special friends, Kathy Bycroft of Galesburg, Illinois, Linda Carley of Galesburg, Illinois and Lisa Thompson of Knoxville, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Terry, and one sister, Linda.
She was employed as a laborer for Local 538 of Galesburg, Illinois from 1979 to 2018.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family for the grandchildren and may be sent to the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville, Illinois.
