Jack Harlan officially Knox County Sheriff, David Clague now retired

Jack Harlan has officially been sworn into office as Knox County Sheriff.

David Clague, who has served in law enforcement for 50 years, including the last 15 as Sheriff, signed off for the final time before retiring.

Clague was honored at a luncheon where he was presented with gifts from the staff that he lead for over 15 years.

Harlan, A Republican, won a general election against James Robertson, receiving about 58 percent of the county vote, or won by about 3,000 votes.

Harlan will now serve as the County’s top law enforcement official for the next 4 years.

Harlan took his oath of office in the Knox County Courthouse with Circuit Judge Andrew Doyle administering the oath.

Judge Doyle also administered the oath for County Clerk Scott Erickson, and County Treasurer Robin Davis, who both won new terms to office in November.
