The Galesburg Silver Streaks boys basketball team lose to the Rochester Rockets in the final day of the Taylorville Holiday Tournament, 61-50. The Streaks played their second game in the span of 12 hours. The game was close throughout its duration; however, a crucial momentum shift happened in the waning seconds of the third quarter when Rochester sunk two threes to break a 39-39 tie. Rochester did not look back from that point on winning by double digits over the Streaks. The Streaks will play their final game of the tournament this afternoon (12/30) against the Rantoul Eagles at 4:00.
The Dave’s AutoBody Crunch-Time Player of the Game was Easton Steck for his performance as a valuable asset for the team. When the Streaks needed a play, it seemed to be Easton who made that play. He finished with 17 points.
