
The Galesburg Police department responded to seven calls on Thursday regarding burglaries to motor vehicles or trespassing to a motor vehicle. Each report had one thing in common: the vehicle was left unlocked overnight.
-A 23-year-old woman in the 1700 block of Meadow Drive reported her purse, along with her wallet, ID, insurance card, and bank cards were stolen from her vehicle in her driveway. The woman was unsure if she left the vehicle unlocked or not.
-A 35-year-old woman reported a necklace and two cases of darts were stolen from her unlocked vehicle in the 200 block of Duffield Avenue.
-A 42-year-old woman reported someone rummaged through her vehicle in the 1400 block of Garden Lane. Nothing of value was taken.
-A 51-year-old woman also in the 1400 block of Garden Lane reported someone entered her unlocked vehicle but didn’t take anything.
-A 58-year-old man in the 1400 block of Harrison Street reported that someone rummaged through his unlocked truck but didn’t take anything.
-A 39-year-old woman in the 1000 block of East North Street reported her unlocked vehicle and her neighbor’s unlocked vehicle were rummaged through but nothing of value was taken.
-In the 1500 block of Moshier Avenue a 30-year-old woman reported someone stole her wallet from her unlocked sedan overnight.
