The Galesburg Silver Streaks boys basketball team lost a Western Big 6 Conference match-up against the United Township Panthers at John Thiel Gym Friday (1/27) night, 77-54. The Streaks are now 7-19 overall and 2-8 in the conference. The Panthers improve to 18-5 on the year and 6-4 in the WB6.
The Dave’s Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game was the Streaks player who led the way in scoring during the point of the game that Galesburg was the most competitive with United Township. That was during the 1st quarter when the Streaks took the lead for a while as freshman Jackson Crock Sibbing scored 8 points in that quarter alone.
During the game, it was a “Gold Out Night” with the organization, Give Back Galesburg. Through t-shirt sales, a live auction at halftime of items created by Galesburg students, and more, the community raised $8,385, which will go the the Kleine Pediatric Center at O.S.F. Healthcare in Galesburg.
