Archie W. Bloss 87, formerly of Oneida and Victoria Il passed away on March 19, 2023, in Springfield, Il at The Arbor Assistant Living Facility with family at his side.

Archie was born on December 26, 1935, in Meadville, MO to the late Lloyd E Bloss and Lela E (Garrett)Bloss. Archie lived around the Sumner, Mo. area as a child until his parents moved to Dahinda, Il. in the early 1950s.  He was the oldest of 3 children, a brother JC Bloss who resides in Keystone, Florida, and a sister Minnie Roate, who preceded his death.

Archie graduated from Williamsfield High School in 1953. On June 16, 1957, at the Williamsfield United Methodist Church, Archie married his wife of 57 yrs, Sharon L Myers-Wolfe. Together, they had 3 children: Archie “John” (Debbie) Bloss; daughters, Diana (Rick) Noble and Kimberly (Scott) Koch. They also had 7 grandchildren, Nate (Juany) Seiboldt, Jonathan (Destiny)Seiboldt, Mike Noble, Cassie (Zack) Page, Levi (Melanie) Bloss, Austin, and Tyler Koch. They were also blessed with 8 great-grandchildren; Kade, Emelyn, and Brynlee Bloss, Hunter, Allie, and Easton Page, Leela Seiboldt, and a great-granddaughter Aleigha Bloss that went to be with Jesus in 2013. They also had several nieces and nephews.

Archie was employed by Maytag Manufacturing in Galesburg, Illinois for 42yrs. From 1968-1974, Archie and his wife Sharon built, owned, and operated a restaurant in Oneida, Il “Sharon’s Snack Shack” Archie also owned and operated a snack business in Galesburg, Il for 12 yrs, “Hav-A-Snack”.

After Archie retired, he kept very busy with all his hobbies on his Lazy B Ranch outside of Victoria, Il. He raised Long Horn cattle, a variety of birds, and sheep, and had a small catfish farm. He always had some type of project in the works. He also enjoyed watching and cheering on the Chicago Cubs, Bulls, and Bears with his wife, Sharon. After Sharon retired, they decided that they wanted to travel, so they bought a fifth wheel, sold everything, and traveled all over the United States and Canada. In the winter months, they stayed in Apache Junction, AZ and soaked up the sun, and visited with family. In 2013, they decided to settle back down and purchased a home in San Tan Valley, AZ. where they enjoyed the sunshine all year around and lived with their 2 travel dog companions: Tina and Hallie, until Sharon’s passing in 2015

Archie W and Sharon L Bloss decided to be cremated and buried together in the Williamsfield Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 1, 2023, at the Williamsfield United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at 10:00 AM. There will be an informal burial following the service at the Williamsfield Cemetery. A meal will be provided by the Williamsfield UMC Church Women following the burial. Arrangements have been entrusted with Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory, Knoxville. Memorials may be donated to the ROWVA Food Pantry.
