An established physical therapy center says it’s found a permanent Galesburg location after moving twice in less than a year.

Advanced Rehab & Sports Medicine will open its new Galesburg clinic April 3 at 1240 N. Henderson St. next to Slumberland Furniture. Advanced has been operating temporarily at  behind the Solvera Health Clinic at 256 S. Soangetaha Road.

“We are excited about our new location and continuing to be a trusted physical therapy clinic that you can count on to get you back in life and out of pain,” said said Advanced Rehab & Sports Medicine co-owner. “It has been a pleasure and a privilege to be a part of the Galesburg community.

“We have developed great relationships with our patients and been rewarded with seeing them get back into life after an injury, surgery, or accident led to pain that was restricting.”

Advanced Rehab has served Galesburg and surrounding communities for more than 22 years. Its hours of operation are 6:40 a.m. to 5:40 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Based in Bloomington, Advanced Rehab & Sports Medicine operates nine locations across Illinois and Iowa. Advanced partnered with Cottage Hospital in 2002 and operated as Cottage Rehab & Sports Medicine until returning to their original business name of Advanced Rehab & Sports Medicine in May of 2022. Advanced Rehab & Sports Medicine in Galesburg is managed by Melissa Engebretson.

“Both moves went much better then expected with help from the staff in Galesburg, corporate staff from Bloomington, equipment and moving contractors,” Engebretson said. “While it went well, we are thrilled to be done.”

The new clinic is nearly 9,000 square feet in size.

Engebretson said the new location at 1240 N. Henderson St. will be ideal for the athletic training services Advanced provides at nearby Galesburg High School.
