Dixie L. Sulteen, 69, of London Mills, IL passed away at 10:15 pm, Monday, March 3, 2023, at her home.

Dixie was born November 8, 1953, in Peoria, IL the daughter of Richard Merlin and Beulah Louise (Murphy) Burnett.  She was raised and educated in Peoria.

Dixie married Jack Sulteen in Peoria on April 29, 1973, and he survives.

She was a homemaker and caregiver to all, especially her grandchildren.  She also worked part-time at Grady’s Tree Farm in Trivoli for 20 years.

She loved having family card nights and cookouts and spent years creating beautiful ceramic pieces.  She loved to decorate for family holidays.  She will be forever remembered for her huge loving heart for anyone who crossed her path. She had more love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren than anyone can imagine.

She was of Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband, Jack Sulteen; her 6 children, Chastity Sulteen of London Mills, Kathy Sulteen of Hanna City, IL, Butch (Darlene) Sulteen of Avon, IL, Tom Sulteen of Pekin, Quentin Sulteen of London Mills and Robert Sulteen of London Mills; 5 grandchildren, Carrie Burns, Denise Thompson, Adam Thompson, Destany Ayers, and Paige Ayers; 8 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Barb Johnson of PA, Delores (Burney) Kenny of Avon and Debbie (James) Dildine of Ellisville, IL; 1 brother, Ronnie (Char) Burnett of Peoria; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Melanie Burnett; 1 sister, Patty Burnett; 4 brothers, Danny Burnett, Robert Burnett, Richard “Dick” Burnett, and Steve Burnett; her great-granddaughter, Melanie Ayers.

Cremation has been accorded.  No services are planned at this time.  Memorials may be given to the Dixie Sulteen Memorial Fund and sent to the funeral home.
