Robert Mings, 69, of Roseville, IL, passed away at 7:35 a.m. Thursday, June 8, 2023, in his home.
He was born March 26, 1954, in Monmouth, IL, the son of Richard W. and Mary Bernadine (Porter) Mings. He was raised and educated in Roseville graduating from Roseville High School in 1972. He later graduated from Bailey Technical School in St. Louis and played basketball at Spoon River College in Canton, IL. He graduated from Western Illinois University with a degree in Agricultural Mechanization.
Those left to cherish his memory is his wife, Mary Mings; children Lissa (Tanner) Schreck of Roseville, Lane (Hillary) Mings of Knoxville, IL; grandchildren, Brinley and Aviella Mings, Mattie, and Bekkam Schreck.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bob was an avid tractor-puller, winning several trophies in his younger years. He was a member of the FFA during high school. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Bears, and sprint car racing. He established Mings Ag and owned and operated it for 22 years. His greatest love was spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Moore Memorial Home-Roseville. Interment will be in the Roseville Township Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Monmouth-Roseville FFA. Moore Memorial Homes, Roseville, is handling the arrangements.
