Jolece June Sprout, 87, of Roseville, IL, passed away at 5:15 p.m., Monday, June 26, 2023, at Seminary Manor of Galesburg, IL. She was born June 19, 1936, in Schuyler County, IL, the daughter of Joe and Hester (Fidler) Becraft. She was raised and educated in Roseville graduating from Roseville High School in 1954.
Jolece married her high school sweetheart, Irvin Sprout, on April 8, 1956, in Roseville and he preceded her in death on February 4, 2014, after 58 years of marriage. Together they accomplished their dream of owning and operating a farm.
Those left to cherish her memory is daughter, Cathy (Bob) Dwyer of Roseville; grandson, Nick (Jennifer Livermore) Dwyer of Roseville; granddaughter, Kim (Chris) Schwarz of Pekin, IL, great-grandchildren, Mya, Abby Jo and Faith, daughter Cindy (Terry) Davis of Roseville; granddaughter, Emily (Nathan) Brunnelson of Elmwood, IL, great-grandchildren, Alex, Ryan, Cailey and Maddie; grandson, Adam Davis of Roseville; son, Fred Sprout of Roseville; grandchildren, Mary Jo (Austin) Moeller of Ballwin, MO; great-grandchildren, Liam and Beckam; grandsons, Joe Sprout of Roseville, Irvin (Erica) Sprout of Stronghurst; great-grandson, Aiden; sister, Nancy Becraft of Roseville; brothers-in-law, Bill Sprout of Waunakee, WS and Don Sprout of Quincy, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband; brother, Jerry Becraft; sisters-in-law, Betty Sprout, Margaret Sprout, and Carol Becraft.
Jolece was a member of the Roseville United Methodist Church. She participated in the Women’s Club, and United Methodist Women (serving as District and Conference Treasurer), and taught Children’s Sunday School and Bible School. She farmed with her husband in the Roseville area for many years.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 30, 2023, at the Roseville United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Inurnment will take place in the Roseville Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the Roseville United Methodist Church. Moore Memorial Home, Roseville, is handling the arrangements.
