Galesburg man facing a slew of charges after GPD receives reports of a possibly intoxicated driver

Galesburg Police last Tuesday morning were dispatched to the area of West Second and Academy Street to locate a subject. Dispatch received reports of a 35-year-old Galesburg man with warrants possibly driving while intoxicated while in possession of narcotics. The subject was spotted at a gas station on North Henderson Street and officers made contact with the man. The man identified himself and told police there were no drugs or weapons on him. The man had nonextraditable warrants out of Iowa and South Dakota. Police searched the man who had several baggies containing six grams of a white rock substance. The man was in possession of another bag containing about 2 grams of marijuana and over $1,700 in cash. The man was transported to the Knox County Jail. He was charged with Driving on a Revoke License, Possession of Cannabis, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver.
