A Chicago police officer sustained a non-life-threatening injury when they were shot in the hand Monday night on the city’s South Side

AP- Chicago police say an officer has sustained a non-life-threatening injury when they were shot in the hand on the city’s South Side. Department spokesman Tom Ahern says the officer was taken to the University of Chicago Hospital. News outlets report two other officers were taken to a hospital as a precaution. News outlets report the wounded officer was injured during an exchange of gunfire. There is no immediate word on a suspect in the case. The shooting occurred in the Englewood neighborhood.
