From spark golf to a community picnic: Here are 5 things to do in Galesburg this week

Wednesday: Quad Cities – Spark Golf Bunker Links Wednesday League

Ready to play Spark Golf? Spark is a 9-hole, social golf league organized to be casual and fun, with a touch of friendly competition. Joining the league is free! League rounds are available for purchase each week or you can save money by prepaying for Spark credit at a discount. Join with a partner, have Spark partner you up with another single or play without a partner. Play as your schedule allows, earning points based on how you finish each round throughout each season and the league’s year. Your best 10 rounds count for the overall league standings. Join us at the Bunker Links Municipal Golf Course from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 2 and find out what Spark Golf is all about! Tickets available on the Spark Golf Website.

Thursday: Vendor Bingo at Cedar Creek

Attention all bingo enthusiasts and local shoppers! Join us for Vendor Bingo Galesburg at Cedar Creek Hall, where you can win prizes while supporting our community. We’ve got 20 amazing vendors lined up for you, ready to showcase their wares and offer you some incredible deals. And let’s not forget the main event: BINGO starting at 5 p.m.!

The cost to enter the event is $20 and you will receive a bingo dauber to play our game if you choose, a $10 voucher to spend with one of our awesome vendors, and a super fun event experience that you will be excited to tell your friends about. We will be playing 10 rounds of bingo if you’d like to join us for free. Each round will bring a $30 value prize sponsored by one of our vendors and two $100 cash rounds in, one of which is donated by our amazing venue owner Patti Wedell. You will get 4 cards to play each round.

It’s a night of excitement and fun you won’t want to miss! But that’s not all. At the end of the night, we’ll be giving away door prizes, and don’t forget to keep an eye out for our non-profit organization of the month, where you can earn extra door prize tickets by making donations to our community. Grab your friends and join us for a night of bingo, shopping, and good times at Vendor Bingo Galesburg. Friday: The eXtreme Tour at Kiwanis

Free national tour coming to Galesburg for their third year. With live music, skate/bmx competitions and giveaways! Bring your lawn chairs and listen to five bands/artists all for free at Kiwanis Park from 4 – 9 p.m. This event is put on by Kwake RYC Praise News Radio and First Church of God. 

Saturday: NAACP Galesburg Branch 3016 Cookout at Kiwanis

Looking for a fun and relaxing way to spend a day outdoors? Come to a FREE cookout in the Kiwanis Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 5! Outdoor fun and relaxation, free for the entire community. There will be food, activities, backpacks, and haircuts all for free! We hope to see you there! More information on our Facebook Event.

Saturday and Sunday: South Pacific Concert at The Orpheum

Join us for this Orpheum Theatre production of South Pacific in concert directed by the one and only Tim Holmes, music directed by the spectacular Kurt Killam. This musical has a long history at The Orpheum and we are excited to bring back the fun, romantic, thought provoking musical journey through the life of a WWII nurse. Showtimes are at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5  and and 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6. Tickets are available online or at the door, $20-$25 a ticket with all of the money benefitting The Orpheum Theatre. Performers are from the Galesburg area and beyond, with more information about them being available on their Facebook Page.
