Galesburg Police on Saturday morning responded to the 300 block of Arnold Street for a motor vehicle damage report. A 50-year-old Galesburg man’s Kia Optima had a smashed window and the steering column torn apart. A neighbor’s security footage showed two suspected male juveniles approaching the man’s property that night.
Saturday, officers responded to the 400 block of North Whitesboro to meet with a woman who’s laptop was found in the 1000 block of Brown. It was discovered the woman’s 2015 Hyundai Tucson was stolen from her driveway. The vehicle was later found by GPD in a parking garage in the 300 block of North Broad Street. A window was smashed and the steering column was tampered with.
In the 400 block of Irwin Street, a woman’s 2021 Kia was burglarized. It’s unknown if the vehicle was left unlocked. Taken were air pods, and the woman’s wallet and bank cards.
On Sunday, in the 100 block of Osage, a 2013 Ford F-150 was burglarized and taken was a set of house keys.
Also on Sunday, in the 500 block of North Broad, a 2016 Kia SUV had it’s rear window smashed and the steering column was tampered with. Nothing of value was taken from the SUV.
