Galesburg Police are investigating a shooting that took place over the weekend in the area of 197 N. Seminary St.
GPD in a Wednesday news release said that one man, Jonathan Straughter was injured from a gunshot wound and was treated and released from the hospital.
No one has been yet charged with the shooting of Straughter.
Officers were dispatched to Seminary Street Sunday morning just before 4 a.m. to a report of shots fired.
While police found evidence that a shooting took place there were no victims on scene. But shortly after dispatchers that a white Chrysler 300 dropped off a gunshot victim at OSF St. Mary Medical Center.
The driver returned to the hospital while officers were present and was identified as Paul Stingley. Stingley was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, but police don’t believe he was involved with firing shots on Seminary St.
GPD is continuing to investigate.
