You can now track real-time information for the Galesburg Public Transportation fixed route bus system via an app.
The City of Galesburg announced a new phone app for the Galesburg Public Transportation fixed route bus system is live as of today (Oct. 30). Patrons can download the app by searching for “Galesburg Transit” on an Apple or Android device.
The Galesburg Transit app provides a new option for bus riders to quickly and easily access information including routes that are currently active, a map of routes, estimated time the bus will arrive at each stop, where to find a bus based on current location, and rates. App users will also receive useful notifications from Galesburg Transit, such as schedule changes.
“We are very excited to offer the Galesburg Transit app,” said Kraig Boynton, Transit Manager. “It enables riders to have all information readily available, which makes riding public transportation easier and more convenient.”
This project is funded through a State Capital Grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT). Additional information on public transportation can be found on the City of Galesburg’s website, and detailed instructions on downloading the app, as well as highlights of the app features, are attached.
