Jaxon Lee Smith, 2 years old, of Galesburg passed away on December 15, 2023, after a lifelong fearless battle with Krabbe Disease, a rare disease that damages the nervous system.
Jaxon was born on April 16, 2021, in Galesburg, the son of Arin Miller and Phillip Smith.
He is survived by his parents; 2 brothers, Kadyn Smith and Owen Smith; and a sister, Alexia Miller, all of Galesburg. Jaxon is also survived by his grandparents, Tammy Rosenberg of Galesburg, and Jerry Smith, also of Galesburg. A great grandmother, Janet Christianson of Galesburg. Also surviving are many aunts and uncles; Arica Miller, Joseph Miller, Crystal Smith, John Patch, and Cassidy Smith, as well as many beloved cousins. Jaxon is preceded in death by his grandfather John Rosenberg, and a grandmother Roxane Miller; Great grandparents, Robert Lindberg Sr., Margret Cass and James Cass. He is also preceded by an uncle, Bob Lindberg Jr.
Jaxon spent lots of time with his parents and siblings, and always enjoyed watching Mickey Mouse. Jaxon impacted many lives in his short time on this earth and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 20, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West of Galesburg. Services will follow the visitation. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Chaplain Jordan Knight will be officiating the service. Memorial donations in Jaxon’s name may be made to the KrabbeConnect or the family.
