Knoxville presents Shamroxville: Inaugural St. Patrick’s Day Festival

The City of Knoxville announces Shamroxville, an inaugural day-long festival celebrating St. Patrick’s Day on March 16, with events for all ages. Taking place in downtown Knoxville, this community-wide event is being coordinated by two Knoxville natives, Morgan Seabloom and Tessa Jones, having promised to expand the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, started by Karen Benjamin.

Coordinator Morgan Seabloom says, “When Karen approached me about ways to bring more publicity to the St. Patrick’s Day parade,  I immediately thought of ways we could bring more publicity to the parade AND Knoxville!” She added, “Tessa and I, like Karen, see the potential to grow this event and enhance the small town experience one gets when spending time in Knoxville.”

Event Highlights:

  1. Green Eggs & Ham for the Lads & Lasses: At 11:30 a.m., kids can come to a reading of Dr. Seuss’ Green Eggs and Ham at Knoxville Public Library. Then, kids can enjoy their own green eggs and ham afterwards! Look for an upcoming announcement about the local celebrity that will be reading to the kids.
  2. Sip, Shop, & Stroll: Between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., locals and visitors can sip, shop, and stroll their way through Knoxville to find special deals, delicious meals, and more festive features from local businesses including Stir Coffee Company, The Shoppe Next Door, Jen’s Western Beauty Boutique, and many more!
  3. Parade: At 1 p.m., find a spot on either side of Main Street for the Shamroxville Parade, featuring colorful floats, musical and dance performances, and a few festive special guests! Interested in being a part of the parade? Sign up today: https://forms.gle/vgPtVDehZ7XfetCt9
