Galesburg Police yesterday afternoon were dispatched to the area of North Kellogg and East Mary Street for a suspicious person.
Callers told dispatch a male subject was walking up and down driveways of houses. Officers made contact with a man whom they were familiar with from previous encounters and who is known to have a Nationwide U.S. Marshals Warrant. The man is also known to give police a false name, which he did.
The man was uncooperative with police and attempted to flee before being taken to the ground. He was identified as a 26-year-old Wisconsin man. The man had two jars containing baggies of methamphetamine and cocaine, a digital scale, and three cell phones. A total of 17 grams of methamphetamine and 1.5 grams of cocaine was found.
The man was transported and held at the Knox County Jail charged with the Out-of-state warrant, Resisting a Peace Officer, Possession of a Controlled Substance with intent to deliver, and Possession of Meth with intent to deliver.
