The Knox County Clerk keeps track of many vital records and pieces of information, including the top baby names in the county for 2023.
County Clerk and Recorder Scott Erickson says, “Some years it is a pretty close race for the top spots on the list, some years there is a dominant winner.”
The most popular name for girls was a tie between Ava and Isabelle with four babies each.
That was followed by Aurora, Faith, and Sophia with three babies each.
For boys names, there was a 4-way tie for the most popular with four babies each for Ezra, Liam, Oliver and Theodore.
In second place with 3 each was Asher, Benjamin, Jacob, and Weston.
In total there were 498 babies born in Knox County in 2023.
Last year Charlotte was the top girl baby name in Knox, and the top boy names were Theodore and Kai.
