A homeowner suffered burn injuries on Wednesday in Galesburg as he escaped his burning garage.
Galesburg Firefighters responded to 1167 S. Pearl St. at 11:15 a.m. with all three stations and 11 personnel on duty.
Crews encountered heavy fire from a detached garage but were able to extinguish the fire.
No occupants or pets were found inside the structure.
However, the homeowner sustained burn injuries while exiting the garage.
Preliminary damage estimates stand at approximately $40,000, as a detached garage sustained heavy damage, two additional structures sustained exposure damage and two vehicles and two motorcycles were damaged,
