The City of Galesburg has again been awarded for its annual comprehensive financial report.
Bobbi Chockley is the Interim Director of Finance and Information Systems.
She says the Certificate of Achievement is granted to municipalities that exceed the basic requirements of generally accepted accounting principles and produce annual comprehensive financial reports that demonstrate transparency and full disclosure.
The report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program.
Those standards include demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users to read the report.
This is the 28th consecutive year that the city has received this recognition.
Chockley commends city staff saying, “As reporting requirements continually change, their hard work is truly impressive.”
