Three arrested for throwing items from Knox County overpasses

Three men have been arrested in Knox County for throwing items from interstate and highway overpasses.

Deputies were dispatched Monday to the 1900 block of West Knox Road, the overpass of US Highway 34, after a passerby complained of concrete being thrown from the bridge.
Knox and Warren County investigators both responded and began working together.
While working this incident, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and Illinois State Police were dispatched to Interstate 74, mile marker 44.
Deputies determined transmission fluid was poured from the Knox Road 2000N overpass. Multiple cars were damaged from the concrete and transmission fluid.
During the course of the investigation, it was determined the transmission fluid was stolen from a nearby business.
With the resources deployed, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office developed three suspects who were identified and located at a residence in Knox County.
Arrested were a 19-year-old man and two 18-year-olds.
All three are facing felony charges including theft over $500, burglary, criminal trespass to property, vehicular endangerment, and criminal damage to property $500-$10,000
