A 38-year-old female resident of Toulon was killed in a traffic collision in Knox County over the weekend.
Preliminary information indicates she was the passenger in a 1994 Pontiac traveling North on Knox Highway 15 and failed to stop at a stop sign.
The vehicle’s driver, a 41-year-old Toulon man was taken to the hospital for life-threatening injuries.
He’s facing charges including disobeying a stop sign, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and driving while his driver’s license is suspended.
A 2004 Chevy truck was traveling West on Knox Highway 4 when it struck the passenger side of the Pontiac.
This caused both vehicles to go off the roadway to the North.
The Chevy truck was driven by a 24-year-old female treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Passengers in the truck were a 28-year-old male who refused medical attention and a 2-year-old child who was taken to the hospital by family.
