A Canton man is jailed after he was allegedly caught making threats to a local school.
Canton Police say Ryane Flatt, 35, was arrested Wednesday afternoon and faces preliminary charges of Making a Terrorist Threat, a Class X Felony, and Disorderly Conduct, a Class 4 Felony.
Police say Flatt threatened to “shoot up” Lincoln Elementary School, according to messages he’s believed to have sent to the school district.
That resulted in a large police presence at the school for a time, including law enforcement from Fulton, Peoria, and Woodford Counties.
Court records in Fulton County do not yet indicate the filing of formal charges.
Flatt is believed to remain in jail.
Police say the incident remains under investigation.
