Shirley Jane Riley, 76, of Bushnell, IL, went peacefully to meet the Lord on Monday, May 6, 2024, surrounded by her family at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born December 30, 1947, in Avon, the daughter of Leroy and Candis (Cutler) Foster. Shirley married Ronald Riley, Sr. April 11, 1965, and they were happily for 41 years before his passing in 2006.
She is survived by 2 sons; Rj Riley of Bushnell, Fred Riley of Avon; daughter, Dawn (Dan) Cuba of Ashland, IL; 2 granddaughters, Casarah (Matt) Cox of Bushnell, Kristin (William) Crutcher of Good Hope; 2 grandsons, Austin and Logan Cuba of Ashland; 3 great-grandchildren, Mason Cox of Bushnell, Omari and Oliver M. of Good Hope. 2 sisters-in-law; 4 brothers-in-law and many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; in-laws Charles and Milta M. Riley; half-sister Martha Lee and half-brother Howard Foster.
She was a stay at home mom and worked a few years sorting corn at pioneer. Shirley was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Bushnell. She was strong in her faith and loved to worship the Lord. She enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandchildren. She loved attending the kids’ activities they were in. She loved to work on crossword puzzle books, you could always catch her walking all over Bushnell. She also loved to feed the cats in her apartment complex.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2024, at the Assembly of God Church in Bushnell, 295 East Barnes Street. The family will receive friends and family at the church from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 12, 2024. Interment will be in the Avon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family and left in the care of the funeral home. Moore Memorial Home, Avon, is handling the arrangements.
