Two officers and the man Fulton County authorities were looking for all were injured after a weekend chase details are just being released about.
The Fulton County Sheriffs Department says it all happened Saturday morning. Canton Police were alerted to a subject in a domestic disturbance that got away from the scene, but later got into an accident with a Fulton County patrol car near 5th and Chestnut.
The man was seen running a block away, and throwing away a backpack, later found on the rooF of a nearby home.
He was later caught with the help of a Canton Police K-9, and sheriffs officials say the backpack had an allegedly stolen handgun inside.
The man faces several weapons and ammunitions charges, along with Resisting Arrest, and was taken to jail after being treated at a hospital, along with a Canton Police Officer, and a Fulton County Sheriffs Deputy.
Records indicate prosecutors did not seek the man’s detention until trial during a hearing Monday, so he’s been released.
