Friday through July 21 – The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

Join us this weekend and next at Prairie Players Civic Theatre to experience The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee! This show is a hilarious and heartwarming musical comedy that follows the journey of six quirky adolescent spellers as they compete in a regional spelling bee, navigating the pressures of competition and the complexities of adolescence along the way. There will even be opportunities for audience participation during the production! The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee discusses race, LGBTQ+ themes and has some profanity and strong language.

Shows are July 12, 13, 19 and 20 at 7:30 p.m., as well as July 14 and 21 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $16 for an adult and $9 for a student with their I.D. You can purchase tickets by clicking on the link here!

Saturday – Fantasia

The Orpheum Theatre is excited to be showing Fantasia (1940) at 7 p.m. July 13 to benefit The Knox-Galesburg Symphony! Fantasia (1940), rated G, will be shown as a benefit to The Knox-Galesburg Symphony. In honor of The Orpheum Theatre’s long-standing partnership with the symphony, we look forward to supporting them through fundraising efforts at this movie. We encourage all patrons and attendees to donate what they are willing to The Knox-Galesburg Symphony in lieu of paying for admission to the movie. This beautifully animated movie showcases some of the most spectacular symphonic music of all time, and is a perfect fit to raise money for our symphony!
