Car stolen, multiple vehicle burglaries reported in Knoxville

The Knox County Sheriffs Department wants your help solving what started out to be a stolen vehicle case early Wednesday morning in Knoxville, with a discovery of vehicle burglaries being made there.

Deputies say they were first alerted to the issue around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, when one car was stolen, later learning that multiple vehicles had been broken in to.

The stolen vehicle was later discovered in Peoria.

Authorities believe all the thefts were made between 1:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m.

Officials say suspects of interest have been noted, but they are looking for footage from doorbell cameras and other surveillance that can help, and they’re still working on identifying those suspects.

They say you can contact Detective Keith at the Sheriffs Department at (309) 343-9151 with footage, or if you have information that can help.

Meanwhile, deputies say you should always lock your car, taking personal items and car keys into your house with you.
