Daniel Eugene Standley, 73, of Rock Island, died peacefully in his home on October 16, 2024.
He was born on December 4, 1950 in Galesburg, the son of Everette Eugene “Gene” and Mary Standley. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1969. He received his Bachelors in Accounting at Augustana College, Rock Island. Daniel worked at the Army Corps of Engineers and later at Black Hawk College. He was a member of the Edgewood Baptist Church in Rock Island. He was a kind soul who loved photography and watching Jeopardy and girls’ softball. In his younger days, walked in the BIX.
Surviving Daniel are his brother, Ronald Standley and sister, Susan Standley, both of Galesburg, an aunt, Eleni Marquith and several cousins and friends.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A burial of ashes will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at the Knoxville Cemetery.
