Jamar Range, the most prolific runner in the Western Big 6 Conference this season, has been recognized as one of the league’s top players on both offense and defense.
A senior, Range was named to the 12-player first-team offense and to the 12-player second-team defense.
Range averaged 100 yards per game en route to 600 yards and the league’s rushing title. He edged Kolten S-Burton of Geneseo who ran for 585 yards. A 361-yard rushing effort against Geneseo on Sept. 27 accounted for more than half of Range’s total rushing yards in 2024.
Range also ranked third in all-purpose yards (682), tied for sixth in scoring touchdowns (6) and tied for ninth in total scoring (36 points.)
Quincy senior quarterback Bradyn Little was selected by coaches as the Western Big 6 Conference MVP.
Other Streaks recognized as honorable-mention by league coaches were Caden Ashby (DB), Larry Randolph, Jr.; Asher Whitcomb (both DL) on the defensive team, and Drew Hickey (long snapper) and Anthony Makwala (K) on special teams.
Coaches nominate athletes from their teams but may not vote for athletes from their own team.
Range and junior Bradley Eaton were named the Streaks Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, respectively, at the recent Galesburg football banquet. Senior Asher Whitcomb was named the Lineman of the Year.
Ashby claimed the Silver Streak Award, which goes to the player for displaying the most positive character traits.
Sophomore Kevin Phillips received the Unsung Hero Award, a new recognition representing the player who shows up for everything and is willing to fill any role.
Streaks football players recognized as Academic All-Conference were Ashby, Sal Kisler, Aguy Isala, Andre Exauce, Celestin Matala and Asher Whitcomb.
