The Farmington Farmers advanced to the quarterfinals of the IHSA Class 2A State Football playoffs by defeating Rockridge 14-10 Saturday in Farmington.
Farmington (11-0) advances to play at Dwight/Gardner-South Wilmington (8-3) in the 2A state quarterfinals at 1 p.m. Saturday. Dwight/Gardner-South Wilmington upset Elmwood/Brimfield (9-2) by a score of 12-6 on Saturday.
In games involving teams from the Western Big 6 Conference, Quincy (11-0) crushed Moline (8-3) by a score of 44-14 on Friday in a Class 7A game, while Geneseo (6-5) fell to Chicago DePaul (8-3) by a score of 38-13 in Class 4A.
Quincy plays a 7A quarterfinal game at Chicago St. Rita, date and time TBA.
