It was another close race for Knox County’s most popular baby names of 2024.
A total of 577 babies were born in Knox County in 2024, with the boys topping girls 296-281.
The Knox County Clerks office tracks the names of babies born in the county and compile the top names for both girls and boys.
The top name for the girls is a tie between Elizabeth and Willow with 4 each. The girls list is rounded out with Abigail, Amelia, Ivy and Lillian with 3 each.
The boys top name was a tie between Asher and Liam with 4 each. The list is rounded out with Benjamin, Jackson, Kayson, Levi, Lincoln, Mateo, Theodore, Walker, and Weston with 3 each.
According to Knox County Clerk & Recorder Scott Erickson, there were 242 different names for babies in both the girls and the boys category in 2024.
“It is one of the fun parts of the job to compile the baby names for the year,” Erickson said. “You never know what names will come out on top each year.”
