Green, Karen

Karen Kaye Green, 86, of Williamsfield, died at 10:55 p.m., Sunday, January 26, 2025, at her home.

She was born September 19, 1938, in Abingdon, IL, the daughter of Howard and Catherine (Wilson) Lomax. She married Russell D. “Dean” Green on September 1, 1954, in Lewistown and he preceded her in death on January 16, 2019. Survivors include her four daughters; Melody (Jeff) Matthews of Garland, TX, Deana (Rob) Bush of Rio, Robin Eastburg of Galesburg and Sherry (Jim) Hanna of Rio, a sister, Sandy (Darrell) Fogliani of Springfield, OH, a sister-in-law, Sheryl (Dave) Hinrichsen of Peoria, five grandchildren; Joshua (Kasey) Kramer, Kyle (Sarah) Elkins, Sarah Hanna, Leah Hanna and Robby Dean (Danielle) Bush and ten great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a son-in-law, Jerry Eastburg.

Karen attended Galesburg schools. She had worked as an inspector at Maytag in Galesburg for 35 years. In her earlier years she was a school bus driver. She attended the Williamsfield United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, playing the piano and attending the events of her grandchildren. She especially loved her family and cherished the time spent with them.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 31 at the Williamsfield United Methodist Church with Rev. Zoila Marty officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Elmwood. Memorials may be directed to the Williamsfield United Methodist Church or to the Williamsfield Fire Department. Rux Funeral Home in Williamsfield is assisting the family with arrangements.
