The Galesburg Police Department recently conducted two separate drug investigations, resulting in the successful removal of illegal narcotics and firearms from the community, and the arrest of two individuals.
On Feb. 4, GPD executed a search warrant at 498 Michigan Ave. The resident, Jordan L. Eskridge, age 29, was arrested without incident at the residence. As a result of the search warrant, the following items were seized:
- 1.2 pounds of cannabis
- 8.6 pounds of methamphetamine
- Two handguns
Eskridge was processed in the Knox County Jail and subsequently charged in Knox County Court with possession of meth over 500 grams, meth delivery over 500 grams, and armed habitual criminal. Eskridge is currently detained in the Knox County Jail.
On Feb. 6, the Galesburg Police Department executed a search warrant at 371 Harding Ave. As a result of the search warrant, the following items were seized:
- Cannabis
- Heroin
- Cocaine
- Psilocybin mushrooms
- Ecstasy pills
- Ruger handgun
An arrest warrant was issued for George G. Sutton, age 41, who resides at 371 Harding Ave. Sutton was subsequently arrested at a different location and taken into custody without incident. Sutton was processed at the Know County Jail and subsequently charged in Knox County Court with possession of a firearm by a felon, manufacture/deliver of heroin, manufacture/delivery of cocaine, and possession of a controlled substance. Sutton is currently detained in the Knox County Jail.
The Galesburg Police Department was assisted in both cases by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and the Knox County State’s Attorney’s Office.
