NOTICE: There is still a problem with excessive loss of water. The Water Department is looking into the software and the meters too insure that they are functioning and they are also looking for additional water leaks. If you notice any unusual standing or flowing water please notify City Hall with the location.
Knoxville City Council Meeting
Called to order at 7 p.m., Monday, May, 19 2025
Roll Call: 6 Present; 2 Absent.
Approved Minutes of the Knoxville City Council Meeting of February 7, 2025:
General Reports
- Treasurer: The Mayor reported for the Engineer that the Streets project is out for bid; there seem to be no contractors available for the project during this year, so the project may have to be delayed until 2026.
- Payment of City Bills: Approved.
Old Business:
- Ordinance To Raise Utility Rates:
- TIF Final Approval – Gary Goudie, 302East Main Street: Approved.
New Business:
- Appoint Mayor Pro Tem: Alderman Rainy was appointed and approved by the Council.
Mayor’s Report:
- A leak was found on US Rte. 150 and it was repaired; another was found on Depot Street and it was also repaired.
- The subject of moving City Bank Accounts to another bank will be on the Agenda for Monday, June 2, 2025.
- Energy rates will be set for ten (10) months.
Committee Reports:
- The new backhoe has been in use and is working well.
- The Library is beginning the Summer Reading Program.
- The Knoxville Community Fund is funding an outdoor heater; It will be used for showing movies.
