A body found in a rural area west of Kewanee on Friday has been identified as Catrelle Reed, a 39-year-old Kewanee resident reported missing on May 22.
The Kewanee Police Department, working with the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and Illinois State Police, confirmed the identification following an autopsy and investigation by the Henry County Coroner’s Office, with results shared with Reed’s family, according to a police statement on Tuesday.
Reed was last contacted on May 22 at approximately 2 p.m., prompting an extensive search. The investigation into the circumstances of his disappearance and death continues, with authorities seeking public assistance.
