Joann Lucille Harpman, 87, of Galesburg, Illinois, died at 5:38 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Seminary Manor, Galesburg.
Joann was born April 18, 1938, in Galesburg, the daughter of Marion I. and Bernice I. (Roate) Goedeke. After graduating high school, Joann married Terry L. Harpman on August 3, 1957, in Galesburg. Joann and Terry were blessed with 64 years of marriage. Terry preceded Joann in death on March 12, 2022.
Joann is survived by one daughter, Teri (Thomas) Godsil of Galesburg; her foreign exchange daughter, Marina (Wayne) Rousey of North Carolina; one brother, Bill (Betty) Goedeke of Galesburg; and three grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, Joann was preceded in death by a son, Todd Michael Harpman; and one brother, David Goedeke.
In her younger years, Joann worked at Gates Rubber Company. She went on to babysit for many children through the years. In her free time, Joann loved to crochet and read.
Cremation will be accorded. No services are planned. Joann will be buried next to her husband at Center Prairie Cemetery, Williamsfield, Illinois. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home, Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be directed to Faith United Methodist Church, Galesburg.
