Nena Sue McMahill, age 86 of Galesburg, Illinois, died at 10:27 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Marigold Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Galesburg, Illinois.
She was born on June 13, 1939 in Macomb, Illinois the daughter of Vernon H. and Velma A. (Shryack) Sanders. She attended and graduated from Bushnell High School. She married Francis C. McMahill on December 10, 2006 in East Peoria, Illinois.
Surviving is her husband, Francis of Galesburg, Illinois; three sons: Tim Murfin of Geneseo, Illinois, Chirs (Stacey) McMahill of Gilson, Illinois, and Patrick (Kara) McMahill of Saybrook, Illinois; grandchildren: Sydney (Gage) Holton of Kewanee, Illinois, Chase, Paige and Kristen McMahill of Gilson, Illinois, Grant and Evan McMahill of Saybrook, Illinois; two great granddaughters, Blaire Longman and Paislee Holton; and a sister, Joyce Brooks of East Peoria, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Linda Starbuck.
She worked in various departments stores, such the former Klines in Galesburg, Illinois and did housekeeping in the area. Her and her husband attended the Oaks Community Church in Dahinda, Illinois, for several years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. She loved to dress up and make her own jewelry to wear and to travel, visiting Arizona on a regularly. She collected bears and loved her dogs.
