Public Works – May 2025
- Wastewater: 132M gallons treated, 0 overflow events
- Water Treatment: 100M gallons produced
- Safety: No incidents; fall protection training completed
- Budget: $227K spent in May — $90K under budget
- Project Notes:
- Pre-construction meeting held for West Harlem Avenue Phase 1
- Public Works office moved to City Hall lower level
- Water plant bids received July 2 — currently under review and will be presented at a future council meeting
COUNCIL ACTIONS
City Hall Window Replacement
- Council approved a $97,534 contract with Beachy’s Windows
- No taxpayer dollars used — funded by a grant from a local foundation
Resolution 25-003 – HRAP Grant Accepted
- Monmouth awarded a $400,000 grant from the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA)
- Funds will support home repairs and accessibility improvements for eligible home owner residents
- The grant will be administered by https://wirpc.org/ and it is anticipated to help improve about 8 houses. More information will be published through all media outlets shortly.
