Republican State Rep. Norine Hammond has announced that she will seek another term in the Illinois General Assembly.
Hammond has served in the Illinois House since 2010, representing the Illinois 94th District before redistricting shifted her district to the 93rd in 2011.
In 2022, Hammond was again elected to represent the 94th District and has not faced opposition since.
Hammond serves as a deputy minority leader in the House.
She also serves on a number of House committees including: Budget Impact; Consumer Protection; Cybersecurity, and Human Services.
Hammond says “Throughout my tenure, I’ve worked to ensure our voices are heard in Springfield. Too often, laws are written with only one county in mind, ignoring the unique needs and values of our region. I’ve opposed policies out of step with our principles—measures that would never gain support in western or downstate Illinois—and have stood for a government that represents all citizens.”
The 94th District includes parts of counties including Adams, Fulton, Hancock, Henderson, Knox and Warren.
